DEADROCKSTAR Currently In Pre-Production

A savage look at the fall of the treacherous and malignant music industry and the rise of the Napster MP3 culture through the eyes of a talented young guitar player and singer: Luther Cody.

A period pace set in late 1999, this dark and comedic film juxtaposes the innocence and sanctity of Luther's digitally-downloadable music against the cynicism and manipulation of the major record company that signs him. The movie suggests that through the years, one way or another, artists have been murdered by their Record Companies to ensure legendary status and thus future sales. Ghosts from the past (Jimi, Janis, Buddy etc.) play with Luther's head in psychotic dream like omens as does the spirit of his older brother Troy: a brilliant guitar player, who before committing suicide, taught Luther all his chops.

The story follows Luther and his band's rise from Internet stardom to rockstar mania, with the subsequent pressures of the Music Industry and being on the road - where it all starts to blow apart. Luther gets strung out, he misses his beautiful Wanda, he's got a bizarre world wide web stalking fan on his ass, a record company pitbull nipping at his heels and the spirits of deadrockstars seriously fucking with his head. Can Luther escape the machine before becoming just another tragic deadrockstar?
